Floating into teenage or adulthood is worth celebrating. You experience a lot of changes in your life and body. Some celebrate to make a declaration that they have become adults now and others celebrate the freedom they are about to get. But somewhere in between, we all miss out on the most important aspect of life, which is the change a human body is making underneath. Understanding the anatomy of your body is very important especially when you are about to cross your teenage officially.

When entering teenage, both boys and girls go through a period of puberty. Girls have a uterus and they start to menstruate, boys go through changes like developing hair in different parts of the body, their voice changes.

It is quite a proud feeling when you leave your teenage and enter the period of adulthood; the reasons are obvious and predictable why this happens. Your teenage is to understand the changes your body is making and what can be done to prevent from the complications you can suffer from.

This period is filled with unexpected changes, both physical and emotional changes. Adolescence is a time for understanding and experimenting with your body. Different types of diseases can affect the health of a teenager in drastic ways. 

The common changes that a teenager goes through are:

• Physical changes:  Teenage girls start to develop breasts, broader hips and first menstruation periods. Teenage boys go through changes in voice, broader shoulders, development of hair and first erections.

The Respiratory System:

The respiratory system allows you to breathe in oxygen and breathe out the carbon dioxide as a part of the breathing process. The main components or parts include the trachea, the diaphragm, and the lungs.

The Immunity System:

A key role of the immunity system is to protect us from the foreign body antibodies attacking our bodies. This system includes:

• Lymph nodes
• Bone marrow
• The spleen
• Thymus

The skeletal system:

The skeletal system is responsible for protecting the internal organs, body movements, storing minerals & fats, and helping in blood cell formation. The skeletal system is consisting of 206 bones allied by tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.

The Reproductive System:

This is the much-hyped system that always gains popularity among teenagers the most. Both boys and girls have “private parts” that helps in reproducing another living being. Organs like sex glands in boys help in producing sperm.

Here are a few steps that can help you grow with these changes keeping your parents and friends in the loop.

The Nervous System:

The assigned work of the nervous system is to send signals to different organs or parts of the body. The central nervous system of the body controls voluntary and involuntary actions like movement, breathing, etc. It is the system responsible for sending signals to every part of the body for carrying out various regulatory functions.

The nervous system is the center where the brain and the spinal cord possess the command. The peripheral nervous system makes the web of the nerves connecting the body to the central nervous system.

The Muscular System:

Without the muscles, we cannot imagine moving. The body is made up of nearly 650 muscles whose exclusive work is to help in movement, blood flow, and other bodily functions. The muscles also facilitate heartbeat and make up a wall for the hollow organs, such as the heart.

There are three types of muscles- skeletal muscles, cardiac muscles, and smooth muscles. The skeletal muscle is connected to the bone, and when the nervous system sends a signal to the muscle to contract, the skeletal muscles work together to move the skeleton. The cardiac muscles are a voluntary muscle that makes up the walls of the heart and creates the electric and rhythmic pulse. The smooth muscle is the involuntary muscle that covers the hollow organs by way of walls.

The Urinary System:

The urinary system helps the body get rid of waste and hazardous substances and urea along with the body. The waste that gets produced because of the chemical reactions or the breakdown of the food we consume is also eliminated along with the urine.

Your urinary system constitutes of two kidneys, two ureters, the urinary bladder, and the urethra. The urinary system also works to regulate blood pressure, make hormones, regulate the electrolyte and fluid balance, and managing the pH level.

The Integumentary System:

The skin or integumentary system protects everything inside the body and becomes the extra layer to protect the inside part. The skin also protects the body from infections; regulates body temperature, and helps in the perspiration process of eliminating the waste. Your nails and hair are also part of the integumentary system.

Here are a few steps that can help in understanding the imbalances that are going in the respective organs:

Step One: Learn the art of telling the true story behind the causes and symptoms that are occurring in your body. It is said that “never hide anything from your doctor and lawyer.” It is said because of teenage we go through a lot of changes that might not be acceptable by the peer group of yours. But your healthcare provider will accept and recommend the treatment accordingly.
Step Two: Always explain why and what is happening with and within you. Start recognizing the symptoms or changes happening in the body. If the change is abnormal to you, be informed about where you should go to seek advice.
Take the medication procedure seriously and keep your family members informed about the same.
Step Three: Start taking healthcare workshops and be acknowledged about your health every day. Try to get on regular checkups without your parents to certified respective doctors. Participate in healthcare-related issues initially with your parents and then alone after an experience or two.

It is important to understand the symptoms and signs that the body is giving to prevent your health from the diseases that can make the conditions worse.
